My entire life I have been passionate about health and fitness, always involved in sports and aware from an early age that "food is medicine". It was however, my journey through lyme disease that showed me it was my calling to help others.
I woke up one day back in 2016 with such extreme pain in my wrists, and then throughout my body. It took over a year to be diagnosed with lyme and about two and a half years to fully recover. I worked with a few good doctors, but I soon realized it was up to myself to recover. I did a deep dive in research and went to work.
During this journey I was bed ridden most days, and needed help with simple tasks like squeezing toothpaste out of a tube or getting dressed. The pain was intense. Even a sheet touching me would hurt.
I went on to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach by attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, studying dietary theories, contemporary health issues and topics, and Eastern and Western nutrition. At IIN, I had the pleasure of learning from some of the top professionals in the Nutrition field.
One area I am particularly interested in is genetics. Did you know that around 95% of our cancers are environmental? "Genetics load the gun, environment pulls the trigger." There is so much we can do to help our bodies heal if we know where they need the support. Today I continue to deep dive in research and attend courses to further my knowledge in the health field.
Prior to this, I earned a B.S. degree from Oregon State University, and almost started out as a pharmaceutical sales rep. God had very different plans for me, as that career path would have led me down the route of relying on a "pill for an ill" as opposed to the functional medicine model I studied where I learned to go upstream and figure out what is the root cause of an illness.
I also completed a certificate program from IDI (Interior Designer Institute) in Newport Beach and spent a few years in the fashion and interior design industry. The next phase was dedicated to raising our four amazing sons who are now adults.
Today I love to inspire, educate and empower others to "Live Their Best Life." We now live in a world where we are exposed to so many toxins that our bodies were simply not designed to handle. This is the biggest driver behind the chronic illness epidemic today.
I often find when I am working with a client, I become a bit of a detective to figure out what is the cause of their problem. Our bodies are always talking to us, but often we don't listen.
I am here to hold space for you and help you navigate your health challenge. I understand how frustrating it is to not feel your best.
